Hyundai Getz servicing at Hyundai Global City Fort Bonifacio
This morning, I took Gina, my Philippine Hyundai Getz, to the service center of Hyundai Global City - Fort Bonifacio in Makati City for her 5000km checkup. Ever since the Hyundai Makati branch at Pasong Tamo closed down, it’s been difficult for Hyundai Getz owners working or living in Makati and the nearby south to get their Getzes serviced because the nearest Hyundai distributors were so far away.
This is why I think servicing my Hyundai Getz at Hyundai Global City - Fort Bonifacio makes so much sense.
While Hyundai Global City - Fort Bonifacio is no Toyota Bel-Air (the service center that I consider my standard for automobile service; the men there, from service advisers to mechanics, are the best Toyota service providers in the Philippines, bar none), this Hyundai service center provides many good benefits, including the following:
- Space. There’s plenty of parking space outside the service center, and a lot of space also inside. It didn’t seem like there was a line of Getzes and other Hyundai vehicles being serviced, so Gina was given attention almost right away.
- Speedy service. There are two service advisers at Hyundai Fort Bonifacio, and I was assisted by a gentleman named Jay Doria (no relation to Dexter - I asked). It took him all of five minutes to prep my Philippine Hyundai Getz and give me the initial estimate. And since there was no line for people being serviced, he was able to show me around the showroom and assist me in selecting a car alarm for Gina. (Kudos to accessories specialist Onyok as well.)
- Extended hours. Unlike at Wheels Inc. E. Rodriguez, whose doors shut down at around 6PM, this Hyundai service center in Makati is open until 10PM. Did you hear that? 10PM! For coded individuals like myself, this is spectacular news because we can proceed to the Fort from work in Makati and not be worried about the Hyundai service center closing down on you.
- They threw in a free car wash and vacuum! I love my freebies. Poor Gina was ridiculously dirty because of the past few days’ rain. I think they took pity on her. LOL
My only gripes are that their accessories center is woefully inadequate (No steering wheels for sale? No rims? It makes Wheels Inc.’s accessories center look like Blade!) and there was no Hyundai Getz in the showroom. Heresy! Oh, and I tried to show Jay my website, but their Net provider blocks this website because of porn. PORN? There’s no porn on this website, d-uh!
I’ll let you know later how the actual service went. Methinks it’s gonna be LEGENDARY.
Update: So I picked Gina up from Hyundai Global City - Fort Bonifacio. She looked splendid, and the service adviser Jessie sat me down and ran me through each item on the list. (Meticulous but very well done; it ensured I knew exactly what was done to my Hyundai Getz.)
I decided to buy a car alarm for Gina. They discounted me down from PHP5,500 to PHP4,500, labor included. So that brought my total costs up to PHP6,500, which I felt very reasonable, all things factored in.
Oh, guess what added perk gave me an absolute thrill? Apparently, at this Hyundai service center in Makati, you can get SM Advantage points! Since I paid around PHP6,500, I earned around PHP130 worth of points in one fell swoop! I am so sold at getting my Hyundai Getz serviced there from now on!

Good for you my friend…I had a very different experience here with this guys at Hyundai Global City…I chose this service center dealer here at The Fort Global City before of its Facilty- they have multiple lifters and I thought they could be far better than any other Hyundai dealership as they are located inside a high-end location and that the dealer owns most of the car dealership around not to mention the convenience I will benefit as I just work nearby. During my 5K PMS Check up of my Tucson, I did transferred to this service center to do the PMS required, jay the service advisor promised me to text or call me once done and to think that I was even the first person to reach the location (that was before 7am as I was just across the building, they practice first-come first-served basis at that time) I was hoping that that shldnt take much time and he even told me “sandali lang yan sir, tawagan kita”…for few hours I let him take the time to advise me…but came 11am and no once bother to call me, I called his attention and yet keep on saying “malamit na sir, tawagan kita”, having these assurances would mean a lot to me as I worked night shift and it sucks when you wait until this hour and no updates whatsoever, I was dissappointed that if I knew that this would take this long (done after lunch) I should have done this another day or have gone home to rest instead, the sad thing is “they (service advisor & team)promise you but don’t deliver, they said yes and do nothing”. At this point I am a little upset, I was even asked to fill out a survey quality service form and i did mention that recommendation “to atleast let us know status when we (customers) are waiting for a promised timeline” which I believe and more descent to do.
Came my 10K PMS Check Up, I did asked them again to call me status (of course this time I was 2nd on the list of pre-scheduled client for servicing that day as I made sure I called up prior day). I was very hopeful that this scenario wouldnt happen again “waiting for nothing”. Again, history repeats itself, no calls / text messages until I follow up again at 10am…alibis and test drive were the response but still I find the service too slow for a regulra PMS or a brand new tucson…despite of this he promised me to be done before noon again but I did not get the car until past 1 pm that day, was so dissappointing as no matter how I remind thie Jay to please advise me status if he goes before the estimated time-frame but he never did.
The worse part was after a couple of weeks, I complained for a soft brake, that for sure I knew that they did not really opend my brake -pads (though should have been checked as part of the 10K PMS where he even listed in the things that were done in the vehicle, the reason: they forgot to asked me where they can get the tire-lock adaptor key (it is impossible for they to remove my tire if they do not have this adaptor), partly my fault so i did returned the vehicle after 3 weeks I thinks (bec. I am too busys to do this every now and then and it sucks). Same old story, went beyond 12nn and I am used to it though tired and sleepy but I cannot help but make sure my car is safe for driving as well.
But more worse case I have discovered, while I wanted to peep inside my car’s engine hood to atleast see if windshield washer is enough for the rainy days, I noticed that 1 of the 4 bolts of my engine cover was loosened, 1 is partly tightend but worse-or-worse was 2 of them were missing on the left side cornere of the engine cover…I would freak-out not because of this minor screws but to think “whatelse is missing???” It worries me a lot to understand if a mechanic forgot a srew to tighten or to put it back, what if its for the negine itself? What it he forgot to put the engine oil in it??? It is very disturbing. A customer service gal called up a few days after and I did took that opportunity to tell her my complain though a day before that upon learning the missing bolts/screws, I immediately texted Jay and seeking for a replacement and explanation but never heared him replied at all…after a couple of week I did even tried to call him in his cell phone agian but too busy to pick uo the phone and maybe too busy to return atleast a 1-minute call. I was able to get hold of him via cell phone again after another 3 days and said he will ask and investigate the mechanic righ away, he told me to wait for confirmation that they have the bolts with them before proceeding to the service center, I asked him how much time I have to wait, and told me “sandali lang sir, pinapahanap ko na…” I remind him I work night-shift and there is no way he will keep me waiting, but to no avail, not even a text I git until I decided to go home pissed off. I did send him a note via text to stop looking for the parts, its a waste of time doing that, I told him to get me 4 pcs of it at the Parts Section and I will pay for it, 2 will be used to the engine and 2 will be a reserved bolts just incase these guys won’t or fail to return what they removed again (just to play safe)…this really sucks when from that day until this very hour 9more than a week)…Jay of Service Department of Hyundai Global City never get back to me for some reason…I want the management to look at this matter as this is not proper and it scares the shit out of me, driving a car, unsure what other parts were removed and not returned back to its place under my car…atleast a call to recall for its counter-check up should have been a prerogative but this Jay never realized the risk his customer’s are having in this kind of failures and never bother to atleast advise if parts were available for purchase…IS THIS THE CUSTOMER SERVICE QUALITY, Hyundai Dealers can provide?…you bet, I love this car when I first drove one in the US but to purchase again here in the Philippines, well, you guys need to to think twice if they really care for small concerns you may have in the future…Few cent of comment that need some answers…
Gosh, CeeJay, that’s a horrible story. I’m glad you posted so people can read other sides of the story, and know that no one service center can be perfect. Hopefully, the folks at Hyundai Global City will read this entry and get back to you to sort this mess out.
