New Hyundai Getz joins our family
Remember this post? My mother has apparently made her decision, and it is one that has me very happy.
Mom has chosen a silver Hyundai Getz! Hahaha! Panalo pa rin ang Getz, mga ‘tol! She says she’ll get it sometime in the next two weeks. While I was quite excited about the possibility of another car - mostly so I could compare the two cars firsthand - this decision has me feeling much better. At least I know she’ll be in good hands.
Sorry, Chery QQ, not this time around. After seeing the Paul Tan Chery crash test photos posted by The Unlawyer, I have to admit this was a choice I feel much better about. Yikes.

Sir ganns hindi ba nag ka poblema sa suspension nang getz mo since its purchase?
kasi sobrang lubak dito sa marikina baka hindi kayanin ng getz specially if im planning to buy a crdi engine for more power.
Hi Tito Boy,
My suspension seems okay pa naman. And I’ve driven it through the legendary flood waters of Espana. LOL
Thanks sir ganns, nice to hear that. I want an extra pull that’s why I want a crdi engine, i just hope the suspension can cope to it when it flies:)
I went to a Hyundai dealer yesterday to see firsthand the i30. Very nice car and loaded to say the least. With its launch, is it true that the Getz will be phased out?
It’s true, Roselle. The Hyundai sales personnel are pretty much pushing the i10 on us.
I am so very much disappointed in purchasing Hyundai GETZ! I believe all their cars are the same way low quality. Just the spare tire is a big disappoinment. Who in the right mind will sell car with a spare tire smaller than the four? I should have had just added a few bucks and purchased a Toyota Yaris or Honda Jazz, and should have not been worried of the accessories. The Getz is cheaper but the quality is so cheap including its accessories.
This is a lessons learned for me not to trust Hyundai. It is the same as the china made cars.
Don’t be fooled in buying hyundai car. Quality wise is so poor. Test drive it and you will see how bad it is. Accessories alone is so cheap. The spare tire is a big disappointment, the size (diameter) is smaller.
Hi John,
Thank you for commenting on Life With Gina. As your comments indicate, you have obviously had terrible experiences with your car, and I am not one to try to convince you out of hating your car.
Frankly, Sir, I am offended by your calling me a liar. For the record, I am not affiliated with Hyundai, and I have absolutely no vested interest in Hyundai or its cars. I am not a shareholder, and if you bothered to go through my website, you would know I have also had my occasional share of less than satisfactory experiences with my Getz, particularly with the initial after-sales service offered by Hyundai E. Rodriguez. I am an impartial third-party blogger simply writing about my experiences, which have been more satisfactory than not. I even wrote in my Comments box that I’d recommend a Jazz over a Getz. Please.
Now, I am truly sorry for your experience with your car. It is my recommendation, however, that your anger with Hyundai not extend to slandering people you don’t even know, people who work just as hard as you do to make a decent living for their family, to try to get by, who can only afford a Getz because we do not have the luxury of choosing to buy a Jazz or Yaris.
If I had the money, I would’ve bought a Jazz or Yaris. As it is, I didn’t, so I bought the Getz, and have been happy with it so far. I did my research when I bought that car, and I knew I was getting a cheaper car, the ‘donut’ with it. I knew what I was getting into.
But come on! What did you expect, John? You bought the third-cheapest car on the 2007 Filipino market! Only the Chery QQ3 and Alto were cheaper than the Getz! As far as I am concerned, I am happy with my Getz, and I am satisfied with its quality. If you are so used to top quality, you should not have purchased a Getz.
Having said all these, I recommend you visit tsikot.com.ph, or BuyAndSell.com.ph, and find yourself a buyer for your Getz. You probably won’t get most of your money back, but I knew I was buying a car with poorer resale value than your typical Honda or Toyota. Once you sell it, go and buy yourself whichever car you choose, and forget you ever owned a Getz.
