As Good As It Getz.

Hyundai Otis satisfies my discomfort

Today, after I fetched my wife from work along Taft Avenue, the front right tire of my Hyundai Getz started making noise. Not the kind of whoosh whoosh that one would expect from a flat tire, but a shrill, piercing noise that can only come from metal on metal. It was extremely painful to the ears, and very, very loud. Naturally, we were very concerned, and I couldn’t imagine bringing my car all the way from Taft Avenue to Fort Bonifacio to have it checked up at our usual casa, Hyundai Global City.

I then had the brilliant – I say this sarcastically – idea of replacing the front right tire. Maybe it’s the tire, I told my wife. So after lowering our tire down and getting all sweaty and stuff, I succeeded in breaking off a nut and bolt from the front right tire.

!#@$*^*%!!!! (Buti na lang, kinalm-down ako ni Lord at ni Misis. hehehe.)

So Cathy and I weighed our options – get it towed to Hyundai Global City, or bring it to a different Hyundai service center. We could choose between either Hyundai Otis, pretty close to DLS-Manila, with it being along United Nations Avenue,  or Hyundai Manila Bay, not so far either from Taft Avenue, but further away from our home in Caloocan. So Hyundai Otis it was!

Upon our arrival there, we were immediately met by the service adviser Eric. He told me that another technician, Dek, would conduct a road test with my Hyundai Getz. So I hopped in the car to show Dek what I was talking about. And wouldn’t you know it? The noise stopped! Kainis!

I insisted they check it out though, so for the first time in my entire life with Gina, I had to leave her overnight. So Dek and Eric worked out a repair order for me and everything, and helped me settle Gina in for the night. (While waiting, I took a couple of pictures of the Hyundai Otis showroom because I’d never been there before. Sorry about the quality; it was just my camera phone.) A lady named Rowena gave me some information on the Hyundai Tucson. My God, what a beautiful, sleek piece of metal!! If I weren’t so afraid of driving such a large car…! Tuloy laway. Ganda!)

I’m having separation anxiety. I can’t sleep! lol

I’ll be sure to let you know how it goes, what was wrong with Gina, and how much it’s going to cost me so if you ever encounter a problem like this, you may know what to do.

Yngat sa kalye, mga tsong!

hehehe… had a similar experience with my getz this morning on my way to my son’s school .. only mine was because of a flat tire! my goodness! i accidentally guttered my tire because of a van who displaced me off my lane! grrr.. i thought i was fine since the gutter is mainly gravel but i was later proved wrong coz na-flat na si huey.. huhuhu.. i had to run on a flat a bit to get to a secure place.. i for the first time used the donut type spare… but i now consider using my busted tire as the spare.. had two holes on it eh.. lucky me right?! anyway.. all is well that end well.. hehe…God’s provisions always see me through everytime i get some car trouble.. very lucky indeed.. hehe.. patay lang ako sa asawa ko!!! hehehe.. baby nya kasi si huey.. hehehe…
    wish me luck ok… hehehe…

Naku! Ang sakit n’un!! Yeah, replace the donut asap, get the busted tire vulcanized, and use it as a spare. Thanks for sharing that story.

Hi there! it’s my first time to view your website..I really enjoy reading it. I feel like we are talking of the same passion. I am sure I will learn many things here in this lovely website. Im enthralled to share my feelings on how I love my new Hyundai Getz. When I went to Hyundai E.Rod to claim my Getz, I noticed that apart from the “Getz’ emblem, there is another emblem that says “Gold” it was like, wow! I’ve never seen one before. Though I do not know what it means. Secondly, the freebies are enormous! Besides the free 3-year LTO, insurance, Chattel, matting, tint, seatcover, i got the following: Touch screen TV which is already radio, dvd, cd, TV, bluetooth, USB-capable, rear view mirror with backing sensor (it makes beeping sounds everytime you back up), rain gutter, spoiler with breaklights and inner chrome! I just couldnt believe i got all these with just a cashout of P38,000 and monthly of 12k for 5 years. So far, I am so happy with my getz… You just had another sister happy in the hood. :)

Welcome, bootyluscious, and WOW, I love you how talk about your car! Picture naman jan!

My car isn’t Getz but I am a Hyundai owner too. I named my Tucson “Sonja”. Anyway, I wrote because in my experience with three (3) Hyundai Service Centers I have to agree that Hyundai Otis really satisfy discomforts. The staff mentioned trully are helpful even outside the premises of the service center. From a simple tire problem to a complicated faulty fuel pump, these people can make your car running, they will give favorable advice so you can use your car while waiting for a replacement part if not readily available … and they never failed (in my experience) to advice their clients the best way they can to address a problem … thanks to a proffessional named Eric. Satisfied is not the only word to describe the management of Hyundai Otis and it’s staff … I can say that I am really contented with the way the rendered their services to my Tucson— rest assured our Babies (cars) are well attended to. Keep it up, guys!

Thanks for sharing, Cris! Glad more than one person can back up what I say about a particular service center. :)

I’m planning to buy a Getz as a surprise and early wedding gift for my wife since our old and rag tag suv broke down i guess in today’s time we need to save every penny… Just hope that she will enjoy the Getz that I’m going to buy her….Suggest naman ng color?

Hi oozin! So glad you decided to go with a Getz; I trust your wife will enjoy that car for many years to come.

As regards color, I think it depends on her personality. Locally, you can find Getzes in red, black, gold, white, yellow, blue, and green, although these are all subject to availability. Here‘s an article you may find interesting in your selection of car color.

Congrats and good luck. Send me a photo! :)
