Hyundai Getz Price List & Specs
WHY BUY A HYUNDAI GETZ?
Among the many factors that make a Hyundai Getz a better choice for college students, small families, and yuppies, instead of the Suzuki Alto or the Kia Picanto:
- Five-speed manual transmission affords it a bit of power when necessary, but since neither Cathy nor I are speed demons, the Hyundai Getz is a wise and practical choice.
- The dashboard of the Hyundai Getz is ridiculously simple. Features include the standard defoggers, air conditioner, hazard lights, radio, and CD player.
- There is space for all our stuff in front. Glove compartment, front door pockets, cupholders (!)… all standard on Gina!
- We went test driving at night to see how powerful the headlights are, and we were thrilled with its brightness.
- Comfort isn’t half bad: rear seat headrests, splits-fold rear seats, rear wiper and washer, tailgate lifter… all standard!
- Gina’s got back! The trunk of our Hyundai Getz is notoriously large!

Hi,
We seem to have the same color Getz:) Anyway, I am from Cebu and just got my 1.1 manual a couple days back. I was wondering if you hear any noisese in the engine when over-revving? My wife over-revs at the moment coz she is still getting used to it. But it kind of shocked me when I heard the somewhat harsh noise from the engine when she did over-rev. Have you ever experienced this?
Thanks and nice little site you have here dedicated to the Getz:)
Mark
Hello Mark,
I did mention that in my comment on fuel consumption. The noises were actually valve slap when you over-rev which can happen if you have a heavy right foot because the accelerator pedal is a bit too light. Any engine will scream or sound harsh when you over-rev, and especialy a 1.1 liter 4-cylinder job. Just be gentle and don’t lug the engine in high gear. A small displacement engine is meant to get up to higher revs before approaching the shift point in low gear, but do not overdo it. When in doubt, bring it over to your dealer and let the mechanic hear the noise.
Hi Mark! I haven’t experienced too much engine noise just yet. In the noise department, comparing my Hyundai Getz to our previous vehicle, a diesel Toyota Revo, isn’t a fair comparison. That Revo was NOISY. But it was also a pretty stable workhorse that served us extremely well.
Thanks for that technical reply, Vic. Much obliged.

Hi, actually I’m about to buy Getz and I read in one article that 1.4L A/T (bec. fo DOHC engine) is more gasoline efficient than 1.1L. Is the 1.4L M/T also has a DOHC engine and is it efficient than 1.1L? I think the difference of P40k in price is not bad if it is more efficient and more powerful…
Thanks for your opinion…
Thanks!
Hi Joel!
The 1.4M/T is definitely more powerful and fuel-efficient than the 1.1. I think this is primarily because while the body chassis of both Getzes is the same size, th more powerful 1.4 engine would exert less effort - and gasoline - to carry the heavy chassis of the Getz. It’s a myth that bigger-engine cars automatically are less fuel-efficient than smaller engine cars. *ehem Chevy Spark ehem*
I would definitely recommend getting the 1.4 M/T over the A/T if only for the two facts that automatic cars are more expensive to maintain - A/T transmission fluid is more expensive, among other things - and you can’t push an A/T if it dies on you for whatever reason and you’re in any mode other than Neutral when it dies.
I have a 1.1 GL and have been thinking of going one or two grades up to a 1.4 automatic or a 1.5 diesel. Do you does anyone out there have real world fuel consumption figures for a 1.4 manual and 1.4 automatic?
I have no idea, Vic. As we know, fuel consumption is dependent on a variety of factors, but I imagine the rule of thumb holds true that manual trannies are more efficient than automatic trannies.
Lately, Gina’s been more fuel efficient, but I chalk that up to a better traffic situation and a lighter foot more than anything to do with the car itself.
any thoughts or experiences with the 1.5 diesel version? looks very interesting…
i used to drive 1.1 GL getz when i worked with pepsi, as a service unit.. gas consumption is about 8-9 km. per liter. its not fuel effecient. thats just my opinion cuz i have it full tanked everytime i gas up and turn the odometer to zero and calculate km/l ratio..
but im planning to buy 1, maybe the 1.4L engine.
im now researching on both gets and vios (compairing the two) if the 1.1L engine of Gets consumes 1 liter for every 8-9 km… i’ll take this a negative image for gets… i now use a 1.8L Revo and have computed my mileage at 7.75km/liter… parang pareho na halos.
Hi, im planning to get a Hyundai Getz CRDi, i was looking in the internet what size of aftermarket wheels will fit the getz. I plan to get 15 x 7 wheels with 195/50/15 tires. will that fit? and what offset for the wheels? I’ve been searching for hours in the net for the answers but can’t seem to find it. And one last thing, is the crdi more fuel efficient than the 1.1 getz? a friend of mine said the 1.1l getz does only 8-10 kms per liter.
I have a question, how did you guys install the rear plate number? wala ba talagang butas para sa screw? thanks!
Hi Bryan,
Wala talagang butas. Weird, no? We had the folks at Hyundai E. Rodriguez drill holes into it.
hindi ba kakalawang? may nilagay ba sila na rust protection nung binutas nila? or paint? thanks!=)
I checked it this morning. Wala.
ok, hehe, parang hindi yata ok yun a hehe. by the way, i am looking for a third brake lamp for hyundai getz, yung original, or class A na OEM. do you know where i can get one? Thanks!
I mean, walang kalawang.
Regarding your brake light, I know there’s a provider on the Getz forum who sells it, but since the Getz forum is down right now, I don’t have that person’s contact info. Will smell around.
ok, thanks!=) by the way, nakakita ka na ba ng mirror cover na may built in signal lamp for getz? ito yung nakita ko http://www.maxdax.com/index.php?s=auto&p=hyundai_getz try mo puntahan itong link.=)
Woo! Ang daming maganda! *starts wishful thinking*
Thanks for the link, Bryan!

Other cars on the market have similar FE capacity.
Hopefully, it’ll be back online soon.
Got a 2008 Hyundai Getz 1.4L A/T for 2 months now. FYI, the average fuel consumption is 14 kms to a liter for mixed driving (City and Provincial). it also averaged a high 21 kms/liter on purely provincial driving. I’d like to know the average fuel consumption of other Getz owners. Please share it here.
thnks
fuel consumption of my getz 1.4a/t is around 8 to 10 km/l
hehehe ewan ko kung bakit go it for a month=) ano fuel ang lagay mo? thanks!=)
Hi Bryan,
8 to 10? For city driving? That’s just about right for a 1.4AT, IMHO.
I usually use Petron XCS Unleaded. I experimented with the 95+ octane fuel because a friend said a smoother burn would result in more power and better fuel efficiency, but it didn’t justify the cost.
hello ganns,
ganun pala yun. akala ko kung bakit malakas. hehe. kasi before my car is sentra 1.8 a/t. almost the same consumption. kaya parang nagsisi ako kung bakit ko pinalitan ng getz ehehe=) havent tried highway yet. kasi wala pa plate number. still waiting, sabi this week daw hehe. =) dealer is hyundai otis. any comments about the dealer guys? share nman=) thanks!=) God bless!=)
hi guys new here in this site. I got my getz 2008 1.4 A/T last May. Maganda ang takbo but i think sa fuel consumption malakas 9-10Km/L. Maybe because of the increase in fuel price…. kaya medyo mabigat sa kin hehe. Parang sisi nga ako sana kia picanto 1.1 A/T nalang kinuha ko… after all im after the fuel consumption …. mas tipid ba kaya picanto than getz? Any comment from you guys?? tnx
Hi Bong, thanks for passing by.
I think many online discussions have eventually determined that the Picanto and the Getz of the same engine type are pretty much equal when it comes to fuel consumption. The Picanto may have the slightest of edges because it has a lighter chassis, but if you factor in traffic conditions and driving style, it will come out equal in favor of either car.
If you drive in Manila rush hour traffic through clogged city roads, you can really expect lower fuel consumption, regardless of whether or not you’re driving a Getz or a Picanto.
Factor in the fact that you have bigger storage space in the boot, more power features, and a greater customizable space in which to play, you’re still better off with your Getz.
Thanks for passing by!
my dad and i are planning to buy a car and i heard that getz really offers the best option when it comes to fuel consumption savings. however, somebody told me na mas matipid daw ung suzuki alto because of the “3 cylinder thing”. Both my dad and i are clueless about cars so I hope somebody here can give me a fair comparison between getz and alto (considering all aspects like mileage, price, etc.) mas mura ung alto but in the long run, san ba kami mas makakamura pagdating sa fuel consumption. thanks a lot!
I just got a new Getz two week ago. A day after delivery tiningnan ko ilalim ng car, to my surprice, rusty na!!! then I reported to the agent, kinuha lang nila sa bahay then sent the car for repair for two days. I demand a change car but di pumayag kasi daw nadeliver na sa amin. Unfair naman yata yon, the car didn’t go thru proper QC, then we, the customer are the one suffer. Can any one advise me what the next step? already reported to the main office in Makati but until now no answer.
That is absolutely terrible, Erwin.
What I’d recommend is your reporting it to some consumer bureau like that fellow Palanca (Palabrica?) at the Inquirer. Sometimes, when you don’t get a response, the best thing to get people’s butts moving is to go to the media.
Hi! My dad’s getting me a car for my 18th birthday. I think he’s gonna buy me a car by november and december. And we considered Getz as our 1st option. I just wanted to know if the driver seat can be elevated? Does it have a lever? I’m quite small kasi. And also, what are the prices available for the 1.1 M/T i10? Thanks! I hope to hear from you soon!
Bogs
Congratulations, Bog! A Getz is really a great choice for a first car. I’d enumerate the reasons, but I don’t have the time…
The driver seat of the Getz doesn’t elevate. (Neither do any of the seats of its competition.) Its steering wheel, however, can be lowered, so your view of the road will never be blocked by the steering wheel.
One of my aunties who is particularly short just plops a couple of throw pillows onto the chair of her Avanza. That’s one suggestion.
I don’t know the prices of the 1.1MT i10. I haven’t heard very favorable reviews of the i10 yet, and its storage space isn’t very large compared to the Getz. It’s much higher, though, which is a completely useless option to someone like you. Go for the Getz anyway!
Hope I was able to help. Just email or write in if you have any other Getz-related questions. God superbless!
hi im planning to get a getz soon.. where can i still get a 1.4 AT silver, or sky blue? i’ve asked 2 dealers already, and they say ubos na daw, and most probably they won’t be selling anymore coz their focus now is already on the i10 and they are already preparing for the release of the i20 sometime last quarter of the year.
kindly post ur agents contact numbers… thanks!
Hi Migs,
I emailed you na.
