Im in Sydney Australia, 17 and just got my first car, a getz. I havent named him yet though.
This Page is heaps cool. I love it.
One thing I wondered though with my getz.. Its a late 2006 model TB MY06, but I dont have the conrols on my steering wheel like many others Ive seen.

Im planning to buy a getz 1.4 AT and a bit concerned about the true fuel consumption of this car.
I have read different results from different owners,,can you give some light on this?
Is the 1.5 diesel version much better when it comes to fuel economy?
First off, I answered a different fellow’s question and sent it to you by mistake. Hahaha. Sorry about that.
Here’s the truth as far as I know it. Don’t expect the Getz to be as fuel efficient as Hyundai trumpets it to be. I believe the reason for it to be the heavier body of the Getz tends to make the 1.1 engine work a little harder than, say, the Kia Picanto, which has a lighter body (and a whole lot less too, hahaha), or the Suzuki Alto. Factor in the weight of the driver (I’m stockier than most Pinoys), the number of other passengers in the car, miscellaneous car weight, and other factors like tire pressure, wind drag (weather), and road quality. On average, Getz Club members say they get anywhere between 10 to 15 kms/liter. I personally register around 12-13km for city driving and around 17-18 for out-of-town sorties.
The 1.4AT will definitely be more fuel efficient than my 1.1, thanks to its DOHC engine. Computer-driven fuel injection is a beautiful thing. Even better than that is the 1.5 diesel variant, whose CRDI engine will save you fuel AND money because diesel is cheaper than gasoline. I’d recommend the 1.5 diesel above the other two, honestly.

by the way, i have a question. we got our yellow hyundai getz car named bumblebee as a second. it only had 16,000 kms on it when we bought it at p280k. it was still in pretty good condition last december 2007 and still is. she was 2.5 years old when we got her.
anyway, i just want to know if the consumption of 8 kms per liter in the city and 12 kms:1 ltr in highway driving its real consumption? so many people are telling us that it is a guzzler. i am sad, i don’t want anything bad spoken against my bumblebee. anyway, what do you think? what’s gina’s consumption?
i have a 1.4at getz and consuming about 10 to 12 but I always drive it hard wherever it goes .It gets very efficient above 80km and that will be the point that you tap the gas light and will still give a surge of power. My nephew has 1.6 lynx but was surprise when my getz swallowed three huge suitcases easily. It also become my utility car when my house was under construction so it was loaded with four bags of cement three huge cans of paint . two 16 foot pvc pice and one plastic roofing. These by far outweights the mileage

Hi, this website’s cool and i’ve learned a lot about the Hyundai Getz. Actually, this site convinced me to purchase one. My wife and I bought our getz second hand from her officemate whose going out of the country. It’s about a year old and looks and feels like brand new. And re it’s fuel consumption, our Php 1000.00 worth of premium gas is good for 5 days. That’s from Las Piñas to Makati and back, with heavy traffic of makati and EDSA. Our full tank usually lasts us about 12 days. I’m pretty glad we have a GETZ!
do you know someone selling a second hand getz? i wnt to get one. im currently workin abroad, but i want a car to drive when im back home. and i think this beaut is the best option

Bought a new 1.1 Getz in June 2008 and first thing we did was to fill her up to check consumption… we live in Paranaque and pass thru the west service road… so u can imagine the traffic we go thru everyday. anyway, i computed my consumption as 9.7 km/L. Had the 1000 km check up a month or so ago. We’re at 2300 km now and will soon have the 5000 km check. Was this consumption normal? Sales rep said 13 to 15 km/L standard. Was expecting around 11 or 12 km/L city traffic. You think this improve after 5000 kms or more? cheers.

Also, the antenna my dealer attached isnt straight. U wont notice it unless u look at it closely standing at the front or back of your Getz. No solution was given unless i wanted another hole or if they made the hole bigger on my roof. that would have meant more problems… its just funny that when i see getz’s in parking lots or following them in traffic, i look at the antennas and some are really not straight… well not all…
That is SO WEIRD. I never noticed whether or not my antenna is straight.
The FC of my car went up after 5,000KM. I’m averaging about 11km/L. It’ll get better, I promise.

Just got our yellow Hyundai Getz 1.1 MT. Bought it from our ninong @ Php280K. It’s almost 3 years old and the day we got it it hasn’t hit the 15K mark on the gauge. First long trip we did was to run to Tagaytay and I’m really impressed by the fuel efficiency of the car. From our place Tagaytay is 88kms away and we got back and the fuel was still more than half.
Officemates would refer to it as a taxi, the “Yellow Cab”. Who cares, at least mine is not a gas guzzler. Hah!

just visited this website and I felt relieved to have a getz coz before I thought that I was wrong in choosing Getz 1.4A/T because it consumed fuel less than10 kms. for a liter. I already upgraded my Getz, a 15″gun finished rim, a leather seats, sounds set up, HID headlights, a spoiler and recently a black chrome tail light from australia. I think Im the only one having it in our place and it looks great. Thanks for setting up this website.

Hi Joey! That’s not my Getz; it’s a stock photo.
You can easily get fog lamps at most Hyundai dealerships, with installation part of the deal and not endangering your warranty.
My old Revo had fog lamps, and they helped.
Come to think of it, I wonder why I didn’t get fog lamps. Hmm…

I was indeed surfing the net to see reviews about getz, it’s the car i’m contemplating to buy for the first time. Some says it’s not worth buying while others give positive feed back. Help, i’m confused!
